YOUR COMMITTEE AT WORK – SEPTEMBER 2017
It is a pleasure to bring you the September newsletter. This outlines the activities your Association has been involved in during the last month, and lists items that are coming up for the balance of the year.
There is a lot of change within the Peninsular and we are doing our best to be on top of it all!
COUNCIL ELECTIONS – THE OUTCOME
A summary of the recent elections is – Regan Party 6, Liberals 5, Greens 1, Independents 3. These Councillors will elect the Mayor at the first council meeting on Tuesday 26th September 6.30pm at Dee Why Council Chambers. The meeting is streamed live on NBC website. Your committee will continue to work with the Mayor and the Councillors particularly on matters of concern to the Whale Beach & Palm Beach community.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE “STALL” AT Palm Beach Kindy On Council Election Day. PBWBA engaging with the local community. Issues raised included lack of footpaths, “hoons”, the BLine and “party” houses.
MONTHLY COMMITTEE MEETING
BLine & Transport for NSW presentation. 45 members of community in attendance. Please explain how the PB & WB community is NOT being disadvantaged by proposed changed to L90 services? When & how did Community consultation take place with PB & WB residents prior to these changes being planned? Why can’t the E88 am & pm peak service begin and end at PB – at least for a trial? 28/9/17 — NBC – PALM BEACH WHARF TO GOV PHILLIP PARK WALKWAY with PB Walkway Working Group at Avalon Rec Centre. Discuss way forward, tender, funding, timeline, community consultation, scope of works etc. The tender has been let. The budget is in the vicinity of $2million

PALM BEACH SOUTH LANDSCAPE MASTER PLAN
The plan was passed by the Council at its last meeting.
A dish drain is scheduled to be installed along the Western side of Ocean Road in the 2017/18 financial year.
The pavilion – $200,000 has been allocated to undertake restoration work on the pavilion over the 2018/19 and 2019/20 Financial years.
State Govt Funding
The member for Pittwater, Rob Stokes, has obtained a grant of $300 000 from the New South Wales government towards the project. This should enable the project to commence towards the end of this financial year.
2017/2018 – $50,000 for completion of detailed design drawings
2018/2019 – $550,000 for works to commence
Total budget – estimate $3+ million?
