Why is NBC developing a transport strategy?
A Northern Beaches transport strategy will address how we connect and move to and beyond a growing Northern Beaches. The Strategy will ensure the various modes of transport are aligned to support land use, connected journeys and efficient networks. Previously, the former three councils had separate plans for walking, bike riding, public transport advocacy and road safety. An integrated strategy will provide the Northern Beaches Council with an overarching framework to guide planning, investment and operations for the next 20 years. This will set the direction for all current and future use of integrated landuse; walking and cycling; public transport; roads and traffic; and parking.
What is the purpose of the Move Northern Beaches Transport Discussion Paper?

We’re also engaging with our partners in the NSW State Government, industry and peak bodies to ensure we are working towards common goals for our community.
How will my feedback on the transport discussion paper be used?
All community feedback will be considered as part of the development of the strategy – Move – Northern Beaches Transport Strategy 2038.
We will provide a detailed community engagement report to inform you about what we have heard and how it’s been incorporated into the draft strategy.
